1. Information on your device
You can learn in guest mode without creating an account. The app stores your chosen vocalist name, onboarding and training preferences, lesson and practice progress, watched-video status, XP, rank, streaks, daily rewards, saved songs, and avatar choices on your device. These settings personalize your learning and preserve your progress.
Your voice-status check-ins, notification preferences, practice recordings, and recording history also stay in app storage on your device. They are not included in Growlforge cloud progress backups. Guest mode still makes network requests to stream videos and, where available, check subscription access.
2. Optional account and cloud backup
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides an account identifier and, when you authorize sharing, your name and email address. You may use Apple's private relay email. We use Supabase to authenticate your account and store your cloud progress.
Free videos can be watched in guest mode. An Apple sign-in account is required to authorize protected Premium video playback.
Your backup contains your app account ID, chosen vocalist name, training preferences, active course and lesson, completed lessons, watched-video status, exercise and warmup selections, daily exercise plans, practice completion history, XP, rank, streaks, reward history, saved songs, and avatar choices. It enables restoring and synchronizing progress across devices. Backups can update while you are signed in.
Signing out stops signed-in progress synchronization on that device; it does not delete a backup already stored. Microphone audio and voice-status check-ins are not uploaded through this backup.
3. Microphone and voice recordings
The app requests microphone permission when you choose to record a practice take. Recordings and their titles, dates, and lesson or exercise attachments remain on your device. The current version does not upload recordings to a coach or perform cloud-based voice analysis.
You can delete individual recordings in Recording history and revoke microphone permission in your phone settings. Files you intentionally share outside the app, or copies included in your operating system's device backups, are governed by those services and settings.
4. Video streaming and external services
Lesson and follow-along videos, captions, and thumbnails are delivered by Mux. Video requests may provide Mux and its delivery infrastructure with your IP address, requested content, request times, and technical device or connection information needed to deliver and operate video streaming.
For protected Premium videos, our playback service verifies your signed-in account and checks its Premium entitlement with RevenueCat before issuing time-limited Mux playback links. This uses your app account ID and the requested video identifier to authorize access.
Spotify and YouTube links open only when you select them. Their use is governed by Spotify's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. We do not receive your Spotify or YouTube password.
5. Purchases and premium access
Apple processes payments for iOS Premium purchases, including monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions and the one-time, non-consumable Lifetime Premium purchase. Lifetime Premium has no recurring renewal charge. Growlforge does not receive your payment card details. RevenueCat verifies store transactions and manages premium access. It processes purchase receipts and transaction details, product identifiers, subscription or Lifetime entitlement status, subscription expiry where applicable, an app user identifier, and technical information such as platform, app or operating-system version, and network information.
RevenueCat may create an anonymous app user ID in guest mode. When you sign in, your Supabase account ID is used to associate premium access with that account. This supports restoring purchases and recognizing subscriptions across devices. These checks can occur without a new purchase.
Deleting Growlforge or your app account does not cancel a subscription or refund a purchase. Buying Lifetime Premium does not automatically cancel an existing subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple subscription settings. Apple's handling of account and purchase information is described in Apple's privacy policy.
6. Notifications
With your permission, the app schedules local practice and streak reminders on your phone. Notification times and preferences stay on the device and are not included in cloud progress backups. The current reminder system does not use a remote push-notification server.
You can change reminders in the app's notification settings or disable notifications in your phone settings.
7. Support and feedback
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, and use that information to respond and resolve your request. The app's feedback action opens an email draft containing app build and device details, or a share sheet if email is unavailable. Nothing is sent until you choose to send the email or share the report.
Apple may provide crash information and tester feedback through TestFlight or App Store developer tools, subject to your Apple settings. Please avoid sending sensitive information or recordings unless you intend to share them for your support request.
9. Retention and deletion
- Local data: remains in app storage until you remove it or remove the app. Deleting your cloud account does not erase progress or recordings already on your phone. Operating-system backups or files shared elsewhere may remain separately.
- Account and cloud progress: are retained while your account is active. In Profile > Settings > Account & backup, choose Delete account and confirm with the same Apple account you used to sign in. Successful deletion removes your app account and its active cloud progress backup and revokes its Sign in with Apple authorization.
- Purchase-service records: account deletion also requests deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record. RevenueCat processes that request asynchronously. Apple and service providers may retain records required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes. Account deletion does not cancel subscriptions or refund purchases. A later purchase or restore may create a new RevenueCat customer record and reconnect existing purchase access.
- Support and technical records: are kept as needed to handle requests, operate and secure the service, and meet applicable obligations. Provider backup copies and logs may remain under their retention schedules after active account data is removed.
To reset training progress stored on your phone, use Profile > Settings > Data Controls > Reset local progress. Reset is available in guest mode and keeps your saved recordings. Delete recordings separately in Recording history if you also want to remove those audio files.
You can also request account or data deletion by emailing jesse@metalgrowl.com. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account. We cannot remotely erase recordings that exist only on your phone.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You can use guest mode, sign out of cloud backup, delete your account, delete recordings, and change or revoke microphone and notification permissions. Revoking a permission does not automatically delete information already stored. You can manage Sign in with Apple authorization in your Apple account settings.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Send requests to our contact address below.
11. Security and international processing
We use encrypted network connections and account-based access controls for cloud progress. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device and Apple account secure.
Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their service terms and data-processing arrangements describe applicable safeguards and international transfers. Contact us with questions about the processing of your account information.
12. Children's information
The current app does not ask for a date of birth. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review the matter and handle any required deletion.
13. This website
This website is publicly accessible and does not require a Growlforge or ChatGPT account. We have not added advertising trackers, analytics scripts, sign-in forms, or tracking cookies to it. Hosting and delivery services may process standard browser requests, including IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and protect the website. Email links open your email app; nothing is sent until you choose to send a message.
The website is hosted using OpenAI Sites. See OpenAI's privacy policy for information about its services. Visiting this website does not upload your app progress or recordings.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
